Description

Bulkhead Interactive is a British game developer based in Derby, UK. The studio is currently developing multiple titles for Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

History

Early history

Bulkhead Interactive is a UK games development studio that was founded through the merger of two established studios, Deco Digital and Bevel Studios. The teams previously worked together on Pneuma: Breath of Life, a first-person puzzler that was the first title to be developed and released using Unreal Engine 4 on consoles. Pneuma was a breakout success for the team, enabling them to become an industry excellence nominee in the new studio category of the 2015 Develop awards. Later that year, Pneuma: Breath of Life became part of Microsoft’s Xbox One ‘Games with Gold’ library in November 2015, helping solidifying the team’s future within the games industry.

Recent history

Now the two teams have been combined to form the new Derby-based Bulkhead Interactive and are currently working on new projects for PS4, Xbox One and Steam. The Bulkhead team has moved into new offices in the city centre and is planning to hire new members. Established staff include lead designer David Jones, lead programmer Kevin Chandler, creative lead Howard Philpott, and producer Joe Brammer.
